Erin Cairney is our fifth brand ambassador and a manager/instructor at Recycle Studio at MyStryde in Boston. As a life-long runner, Erin had no idea how passionate she would be about instructing until she got behind the mic and found out that motivating others is what she wanted to do with her life. We're happy Erin found her calling because we LOVE her as an instructor!

Q: What is your occupation?
Erin: Manager/Instructor at Recycle Studio & Running Coach at MyStryde.
Q: What or who inspired you to become an instructor?
Erin: I would say my love for physical and mental strength is was drove me to instruct. It started with my love for running! I have been a runner since middle school cross country and I as I grew up my passion for running grew with me. I love the feeling of pushing myself mentally and physically each time I hit the road. It has become a huge part of my life and who I am. I was introduced to spinning by simply being a rider. My friend dragged me to my first class at Recycle and I was hooked! After riding for quite a while, I was forced (again by my awesome friends) to audition. I had no idea how passionate I was about instructing until I got behind the mic and found out that motivating others is what I want to do with my life!
Q: How do you describe what you do and what do you love most about it?
Erin: As a teacher/coach I am constantly trying to focus on things that inspire and motivate me so that I can teach my clients that the true power behind being physically fit is not muscle strength, it’s mental strength. I spend a lot of time planning my workouts so that they make sense in a way that pushes people beyond what they are capable of. A lot of that comes with finding what inspires me so I can share those things with them. My free time is spent writing things down that inspire me (I literally have a journal of just motivational quotes), planning workouts, play listing and getting creative with new things I can do to keep my clients excited and challenged!
Q: When you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, what gives you peace?
Erin: Oddly, I’m the most at peace when I’m working my body the hardest. Popping in my headphones and hitting the road for a killer hill workout is my favorite thing! Also a sweaty spin class packed with speed is how I love to let it all go. Nothing better than a dark room, loud music and a bunch of your friends grinding to the beat!
Q: What are your hobbies or passions other than being a fitness leader?
Erin: That’s a tough one because I’m lucky enough to say that my hobbies and passions are my job!
Q: How would you describe your personal Style?
Erin: Sporty/Chic and on a night out I’ve always got my red lips! I like my clothes fitted, but I also like them to be comfortable. Anything that’s easy to transition from day to night or casual to dressy is helpful since I’m always on the go!
Q: Why did you want to be an ambassador for Crane & Lion?
Erin: I love that Crane & Lion is a lifestyle brand! As a woman who is constantly on the go, I need that comfortable, fashionable style that’s easy to transition between night and day. Also being in the fitness industry I still want to look cute and fashionable as I go from one studio to another or one class to another, that’s why Activewear is so important! The fact that the fit is perfect for me helps too :)
